Josh Galvan, Dough Pizzeria Napoletana
Dough Pizzeria Napoletana has long been a favorite for anyone in San Antonio serious about pizza.
They specialize in Naples‑style wood‑fired pies, the kind that arrive with leopard‑spotted crusts, soft centers, and that perfect balance of char and chew. This is their second year participating in the Kinsman Brandy Alexander Tour, and they’re clearly not phoning it in. Both of their locations are in on the action, so whether you’re closer to one side of town or the other, you’ve got a chance to try their spin on the classic Brandy Alexander.
Josh Galvan is the bar magician behind the Brandy Alejandro con Leche at Dough. He’s taken the classic creamy cocktail and spun it straight into his childhood, landing on a drink that tastes like a grown‑up version of the arroz con leche his mom used to make. Josh is a Houston native who moved to San Antonio a little over a year ago to be closer to his six‑year‑old son. When he’s not behind the bar at Dough, you’re likely to catch him golfing, running, working out, or tracking down any and all seafood he can get his hands on. He went to Texas State University, dreams of eventually retiring in Monterrey, Mexico where his mom is from, and has Japan sitting high on his travel bucket list. In the meantime, he loves the fact that a bar is basically the world’s best networking event that never ends—he’s in his element talking with guests, trading stories, and introducing people to new flavors one cocktail at a time.
The Brandy Alejandro con Leche is a sipper that drinks like a silky, nostalgic hug. Heavy whipping cream brings that lush, luxurious body, while RumChata layers in cinnamon and soft spice. 1883 French Vanilla syrup adds a custardy vanilla note that feels more like vanilla bean ice cream than grocery‑store extract, while cinnamon syrup deepens the spice and ties everything together. The cinnamon sprinkled on top adds just the right aromatic lift, and served in a martini glass, it feels special enough for a holiday night out, but familiar enough that you instantly want a second round.
The Brandy Alejandro con Leche is available now through New Year’s Eve, and it’s one of those limited‑time offerings you’ll kick yourself for missing when January hits. Make plans to swing by Dough grab a barstool, say hi to Josh, and treat yourself to his arroz‑con‑leche‑inspired twist on the classic Brandy Alexander before the tour wraps up on NYE.
