Bar Loretta.

Michael Neff, Bar Loretta

Since opening in 2021, Bar Loretta has become a staple in the dining and imbibing scene in San Antonio. Bar Loretta bills itself as a full-service restaurant, bar & market serving elevated, modern Texas cuisine along with proper cocktails, quality brews, and choice wines.

We can definitely vouch for the quality brews since the Southtown destination’s only draft beers are our HighWheel Betty and HighWheel 56. There’s nothing wrong with a shameless plug, right?

Michael Neff is the barkeep responsible for those proper cocktails at Bar Loretta including this year’s take on the classic Brandy Alexander. This banjo playing California native has been in the industry for about 30 years (he’s stopped counting at this point) and uses all those years of experience to create this year’s adaptation of the classic Brandy Alexander.

Not many people think of a Brandy Alexander as a stirred cocktail, but that’s exactly what Michael came up with. They also don’t think to use sherry in a Brandy Alexander either, but it definitely shines in this boozy sipper. Lending a rich nutty flavor, the sherry perfectly compliments the chocolate liqueur, and if it wasn’t for the Kinsman, might be the star of the show, but nobody puts baby in a corner. It’s the KINSMAN Brandy Alexander Tour after all, and the Rakia is unquestionably the star of this cocktail. Obviously….

Top it all off with a house whipped cream and you have the Baby Alexander, a truly unique take on the time-honored dessert cocktail that will definitely leave a lasting impression.

Visit Michael now through NYE and find out for yourself why the Baby Alexander is a perfect after-dinner holiday sipper.
